The Parowan Senior Center is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Center meals

The Parowan Senior Center provides a home-cooked lunch prepared by a professional staff of cooks. Meals meet government requirements for nutrition, dietary standards, and sanitation.

Lunch is served on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Serving begins promptly at 12:15 p.m. Entertainment or presentations are often provided during lunch.

Reservations are required by calling before 9:30 a.m. This helps the cooks prepare the correct number of meals. Suggested donation is $4.00 per meal for ages 60 and older. Guests under 60 must pay $7.00 per meal.

Activity schedule

The Parowan Senior Center offers a variety of activities. No matter where you live, you are welcome to attend. Activities include:

  • Blood pressure checks by Horizon Home Health Care
  • Bingo with prizes
  • Pool table available for games
  • TV lounge, books, trivia, and word puzzles
  • Shopping day in Cedar City (see shuttle details)
  • Entertainment and presentations during lunch (see flyer)

Senior shuttle bus

Lunch and shopping day in Cedar City

On Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday the bus can pick you up at your home around 9:30–10:30 a.m. and bring you to the center for activities and lunch. Every other Tuesday is shopping day. The bus will take you to Walmart in Cedar City, leaving at 9:30 a.m. You need to sign up at the center. Seating is limited. Suggested ride donation is $4.00 round trip. The bus can also pick up in Paragonah and Summit. On some days, the bus can take you to the Parowan Market and other destinations in Parowan.

Please note: There are restrictions associated with the Senior Bus, such as where you live and your ability to ride on the bus.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels (opens in a new tab) is available for seniors age 60 and older who qualify as homebound. Customers must be unable to transport themselves (or have someone else transport them) to the Senior Center for lunch.

Lunch meals are delivered in the Parowan area on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, typically between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Suggested donation is $4.00 per meal.

Meals are delivered in sections: a sealed tray with cold items (salads, desserts, etc.) and a hot tray with the main course and vegetables, plus a drink (milk or water). Refer to the monthly menu calendar.
