NO REFUNDS will be granted for any reason, including conditions outside of our control, such as inclement weather, flooding, and/or fire restrictions. NO WATER OR POWER ARE PRESENT! While some amenities are provided on site, it is the sole responsibility of the below signed parties to provide their own firearms, ammunition, targets, cleaning and hand-washing supplies, drinking water, power source, extra seating, etc.

The Shooting Range is a public range maintained by Iron County for the benefit of Iron County residents and their friends. In as much as this range is maintained by County funds, and whereas it is open to the general public for use, after appropriate reservations made and fees paid, certain REGULATIONS AND RULES MUST BE ADHERED TO for the benefit of the entire public and are as follows:

  • ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AT THE SHOOTING RANGE IS PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES!
  • NO CAMPING IS ALLOWED AT THE SHOOTING RANGE!
  • NO SMOKING OR VAPING
  • ANY PORTION OF ANY DAY USED, INCLUDING SET UP & TEAR DOWN, IS SUBJECT TO THE FULL FEE OF THE USE OF THE RANGE!
  • IRON COUNTY HAS RESERVED THE RIGHT TO CHARGE ADDITIONAL DAILY FEES FOR LATE RETURN OF RANGE KEYS.
  • No sale of beverages, goods, foods or other business or commercial transactions shall occur on the range premises.
  • Use of fireworks and exploding targets in the Shooting Range is strictly prohibited and subject to prosecution.
  • Shooting is only permitted in the boundaries of the Shooting Range.
  • LEAVE NO TRACE! All trash must be carried out or deposited in the containers provided. Not buried!
  • Any destruction of public property or littering is a CRIMINAL OFFENSE punishable by fine and/or incarceration. Please report vandalism or any criminal acts to the Iron County Sheriff's Office at (435)867-7550.
  • IRON COUNTY SHALL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO PERSONAL PROPERTY BROUGHT TO THE RANGE. ALL PERSONAL PROPERTY IS REQUIRED TO BE REMOVED UPON COMPLETION OF EACH USE OF THE RANGE.
  • Please have a copy of your approved reservation with you on site.
  • Please respect other groups enjoying the park.
  • PLEASE DO NOT FEED, POACH OR DISTURB WILDLIFE!

Reservation Guidelines for the Iron County Shooting Range

Iron County reserves the right to limit group reservations to two weekends per month (Saturday and/or Sunday). A weekend counts even if only one day is reserved. Weekday reservations are not subject to this limitation.

  1. Shooting Range amenities are as follows (group ranges require advance reservation):

    • Group Range #1: Long sunshade awning, (3) 45-yard bays, and (2) concrete tables
    • Group Range #2: (3) 45-yard bays and (3) concrete tables
    • 300-yard range: Concrete pads, nine concrete shooting benches, and one shooting bench with awning
    • 1000-yard range: Concrete pads, two adjustable metal shooting benches, and steel AR500 targets from 200 yards to 1000 yards
    • Six short-range bays (all have concrete pads):
      • North facing: 50 yards deep; may be used for pistols, rifles, and shotguns (two have awnings)
      • South facing: 40 yards deep; pistols only (two have awnings)
    • Two double vault toilets
    • Trash cans
    • Emergency satellite phone
    • No water or electricity are present

  2. As of January 1, 2026, Iron County Parks & Recreation non-refundable fees for use of the group ranges have changed (no exceptions):

    • Up to 25 people (Range 1 or 2): $20 per day
    • Up to 25 people (Both Ranges): $40 per day
    • 26-59 people (Range 1 or 2): $40 per day
    • 26-59 people (Both Ranges): $60 per day
    • Groups 60+ requires a Special Event Permit with appropriate fees as well as approval from the Parks & Recreation Director. 
    • Students K–12: Free (education/training purposes only)

  3. No refunds upon cancellation. Dates may be changed upon request and must be within the current calendar year.

  4. The reservation season for the group event ranges is year-round.

  5. Iron County reserves the right to limit group reservations to two weekends per month (Saturday and/or Sunday). A weekend counts even if only one day is reserved. Weekday reservations are not subject to this limitation.

  6. Reservation requests are accepted for the current calendar year only.

  7. No reservation applications will be accepted until the first working day of the calendar year.

    Reservation calendars and park ordinances are available on the Iron County website under Departments → Community → Parks & Recreation.

  8. A completed reservation request form and applicable fees (cash, check, or credit card) must be submitted in person to:

    Reservations are confirmed only by the reservation coordinator upon receipt of payment.

  9. Reservation applications may be picked up at the address above or submitted digitally through the Iron County website under Departments → Community → Parks & Recreation. Digital submissions receive an email response within two business days. Payment must be made in person or by phone.

  10. A temporary two-week hold may be placed on a requested date. If not confirmed within this period, the date may be released to another party.

  11. Use of this facility is a privilege. Any abuse or damage may result in termination of user privileges at the range.

  12. Use of the range does not imply endorsement of users’ policies, beliefs, or programs by the Iron County Commission and/or staff.

  13. Special events require a permit and additional documentation, including liability insurance and medical/law enforcement notifications. Special event fees may apply up to $500. Please contact the Parks & Recreation Director well in advance to begin the permit process.

I, the undersigned applicant under penalties or perjury, declare that I have examined and completed the above application, and to the best of my knowledge and belief, said application is a true, correct, and complete assessment of the intended use of the park. I agree to the rules and regulations. I also agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Iron County and/or its agencies and representatives against and from any and all demands, claims, liabilities of every nature whatsoever, including but not limited to, damages to property, or injuries or death of persons arising directly or indirectly from the use and occupancy of the recreation area.
