Our Office

Building & Zoning Services

The Building & Zoning Department helps ensure construction and land use within Iron County complies with applicable building codes and zoning ordinances.

What We Do

  • Review plans for compliance
  • Issue building permits for construction projects within Iron County, including new residential and commercial construction, additions, remodels, accessory structures, and utility upgrades
  • Inspect all phases of construction, including building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fuel gas
  • Investigate zoning violations
  • Enforce zoning ordinances

What We Don't Do

The following property and surveying services are handled elsewhere and are not provided by the Building & Zoning Department.
