Iron County is providing this page as a central location for public information related to proposed data center projects.

Information and documents will be updated as they become available. Members of the public are encouraged to review the materials and participate in the public meeting process when applicable.

180-Day Moratorium

On May 26, 2026, the Iron County Commission adopted an ordinance establishing a 180-day moratorium on the acceptance and processing of new land use applications related to data centers, data center power plants, and solar power plants.

Current Applications

Antelope Data Center

Scheduled for Planning Commission review

This item is scheduled for the June 4, 2026 Planning Commission meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Festival Hall. There will not be a public hearing.

Red Butte Data Center

Application on hold

The Red Butte Data Center application was submitted on May 4, 2026, and was deemed incomplete on May 22, 2026. The project is subject to the 180-day moratorium, so the application is not currently in process and is on hold until after the moratorium ends.
