Chad Dotson

Iron County Attorney

Chad Dotson was elected and sworn into office as the Iron County Attorney in 2019. Since that time, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving victims of crime and protecting the people of Iron County. Chad has successfully prosecuted some of the county’s most challenging cases, including complex homicide trials and child sexual abuse cases, ensuring that victims and their families receive justice.

A proud graduate of Southern Utah University, Chad also served in the Utah Army National Guard as part of Southern Utah’s artillery unit, the “Triple Deuce.” In 2011, he deployed to Iraq, where he further developed his dedication to service, leadership, and duty. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law, preparing him for a career dedicated to the law and public service.

Chad’s passion for his community drives his work as County Attorney. He takes seriously his responsibility to uphold public safety, strengthen trust in the justice system, and protect the most vulnerable. Beyond his professional role, Chad and his wife Sarah are raising four children and deeply value the beauty, history, and people of Southern Utah, which they proudly call home.
